SakanaaNime Tracker ("we", "us") is designed with privacy in mind: you drop an image, get an answer, and we do not keep it. This Privacy Policy explains what data is processed when you use the Service, why it is processed, how long it is retained, and what rights you have.
When you submit an image for identification, the image is transmitted from your browser to our processing backend over an encrypted connection. The image is analysed in real time to perform visual frame matching and a deep visual search of the public web, after which a reasoning system compares the results with the image you submitted. Only the minimum information necessary for identification is processed. Alongside the image, we may process standard technical data such as your IP address, approximate timestamp, and user-agent string for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
Your submitted images are never stored permanently. For identification, each image is placed on a temporary public hosting slot that automatically and irreversibly deletes itself 15 minutes after upload; the raw image data used by the analysis pipeline exists only in volatile server memory for the duration of the request. Once the identification result is delivered to your browser, all copies of your image in our infrastructure expire on their own. We keep no gallery, no history, and no database of submitted images.
We do not train any machine-learning models on your submitted images. We do not perform facial recognition or identity inference. We do not associate submitted images with your identity. We do not sell, rent, or share your images or identification results with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. We do not require an account or personal information to use the Service.
We understand that users may occasionally submit images containing sensitive fictional content. The same strict lifecycle applies to every image without exception: temporary hosting with automatic deletion after 15 minutes, in-memory-only analysis, and no permanent storage of any kind. No human reviews your images as part of the pipeline. However, we ask you to consider carefully before uploading anything you would not want to exist even momentarily on a temporary hosting slot, because deletion is automated and depends on the hosting provider’s expiry mechanism. Please never submit images of real, identifiable people, and never submit content that is unlawful.
The Service relies on a small number of specialised external processors: a temporary image-hosting provider (images are auto-deleted by expiry), a visual web-search provider, a third-party metadata database for anime and manga information, and an AI reasoning provider that receives the image strictly for the purpose of identification. Each of these processors acts on our instruction and receives only the data required for its function. We choose processors that support automatic data expiry, and we instruct all of them that submitted images must not be retained or used for model training.
All traffic between your browser and the Service is encrypted with HTTPS, and the Service enforces strict transport security. The backend applies hardened security headers (content security policy, frame protection, and origin restrictions), single-use time-bound request tokens to prevent token theft and replay, per-visitor rate limiting to deter abuse, and no cross-origin leakage of results. Images are proxied server-side when retrieved from external sources so that upstream hosts never see your browser identity.
To keep the Service available for everyone, each visitor IP address is limited to 3 identification requests per minute and a daily quota (currently 12 requests per day), which resets at 00:00 Jakarta time (UTC+7). The interface displays how many requests you have remaining today, and a clear notice is shown when the quota is exhausted. These limits are enforced on the server and persist across page refreshes, network changes, or clearing browser data, so they cannot be bypassed client-side. No personal data beyond your IP address is used to enforce these limits, and rate-limit state is automatically cleared at every daily reset.
The Service itself does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics that profile visitors. An embedded browser token is used solely to authorise identification requests and is invalidated immediately after use. Note that if advertisements are displayed (see Section 8a), the advertising network may set its own cookies; these are controlled by the network, not by us.
The Service may show third-party advertisements, currently limited to the expanded title-detail view (opened when you view full metadata); no advertisements appear on the main identification page. Ads are delivered by a third-party advertising network that may collect limited technical data (such as device identifiers and browsing signals) to serve and measure ads. We do not share your submitted images or identification results with the advertising network. You may disable interest-based advertising through your browser settings or the network’s opt-out page. Ad display may be added or removed at any time as the Service evolves.
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will assist in removing it.
Because we do not store submitted images or personal profiles, there is effectively nothing to retrieve or delete after your request completes. If you believe any data related to you is still held, or if you have any privacy concern, you may contact us at the addresses listed below and we will investigate and respond.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected on this page before they take effect.
